PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyimide film, which almost prevents the occurrence of defects that occur due to the drying irregularity of a solvent, generated by the inflow of the solvent from a film end part, in a width direction stretching and drying process.SOLUTION: The method for producing a polyimide film includes continuously extruding or applying a polyamide acid solution onto a support in a film form, and then peeling, stretching, drying and heat treating the resulting gel film. When the film 2 is treated by a film end part fixing tenter, the method uses a polyimide film production apparatus having a tenter-type treating section which fixes both end parts of the film 2 by pressing the film 2 to a pin sheet 3 constituted of a number of pins with a brush roll 1 so that both side end parts of the film 2 are stabbed by the pins, and transfers the film 2 in a state stretched in the width direction and transfer direction. When the film 2 is pressed with the brush roll 1 and stabbed by the pins, the gap 5 between the brush roll 1 and the pin sheet top plate 3 is 0.50 mm or more and less than 2.5 mm. |
