PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image capturing device which offers extended time before shooting is inhibited (because of a low battery) while minimizing AF performance degradation when recording video.SOLUTION: An image capturing device includes; an image sensor having pixels for photo-electrically converting object images; a read-out section which reads an imaging signal and a focus detection signal from the pixels; and a control section which controls whether to have the read-out section operate in a first reading mode, in which both the imaging signal and the focus detection signal are read from the pixels, or in a second reading mode in which only the imaging signal is read from the pixels. |
