PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress power consumption in the case of amplifying a signal light by an optical amplifier, and then receiving the signal light.SOLUTION: In a receiving device 9, an amplification filter 11 is characterized to, when excitation light is supplied from an excitation light source 12, amplify a signal light to be input to a receiver 15 which receives the signal light such that the level of the signal light falls into the dynamic range of the receiver 15, and to attenuate the signal light when the supply of the excitation light is stopped. A control part 13 controls the supply and stop of the excitation light from the excitation light source 12 to the amplification fiber 11. The control part 13 stops the supply of the excitation light when the level of the signal light to be input to the amplification fiber 11 is higher than a first input threshold 14, or when the level of the signal light to be output from the amplification fiber 11 is higher than the first output threshold 14, or when the drive parameter of the excitation light source 12 is smaller than the first drive threshold 14. |
