PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clarify relationship between levels of various cytokines/chemokines contained in breast milk and an onset of atopic dermatitis, and based on this, to provide a method for predicting an onset of infantile atopic dermatitis based on cytokine/chemokine values in breast milk and a diagnostic agent used therefor, and a composition for preventing the onset of infantile atopic dermatitis.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for determining a risk of an onset of atopic dermatitis of an infant including (1) measuring a concentration of an eotaxin in mature milk taken by the infant, and (2) correlating the concentration of the eotaxin measured in step (1) with the risk of the onset of atopic dermatitis of the infant. A diagnostic agent for determining a risk of an onset of infantile atopic dermatitis, the agent containing an anti-human eotaxin antibody, and a composition for reducing the risk of the onset of infantile atopic dermatitis, the composition containing a compound for inhibiting production of an eotaxin are also provided. |
