PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove background noise caused by a self-emitting light of a PET device when a scintillator containing a radioisotope of Lu is used as a radiation detector.SOLUTION: A PET device uses the radioisotope scintillator including the background noise caused by the self-emitting light as the radiation detector 22, and counts a pair of annihilation radiations 14a, 14b detected in a predetermined period of time with the plurality of the radiation detectors 22 as being generated from the same nuclide 12. A method for determining coincidence in the PET device comprises: determining coincidence in a broad energy window capable of detecting the background noise in the self-emitting light as multiple coincidences; and restricting coincidence events only to a photoelectric peak part from a positron nuclide using a narrower energy window compared with the broad energy window after removing the multiple coincidences. |
