PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fixedly determine a positional relation between a main magnetic pole and a spin torque oscillator while optimizing the main magnetic pole and the spin torque oscillator independently of each other.SOLUTION: Steps are provided on boundaries between a main magnetic pole 103 and parts of a gap material 110 on both sides of the main magnetic pole in a trailing edge surface of the main magnetic pole, and a spin torque oscillator is formed on them, and the spin torque oscillator is effectively separated into two areas 109-1 and 109-2 by utilizing the steps, and further a part of the spin torque oscillator is removed to disable the function of the unnecessary area 109-2, whereby a structure of self-alignment microwave assisted magnetic recording head where positions of end parts of the main magnetic pole and the spin torque oscillator are aligned is implemented. |
