PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance workability of a work for inserting an electrode assembly into a case.SOLUTION: In a secondary battery 2, an electrode assembly 5 formed by laminating a positive electrode 10 and a negative electrode 11 with a separator 12 interposed therebetween is housed in a case 3. The negative electrode 11 and the separator 12 are large enough to cover the surface of the positive electrode 10, and partially extrude farther than the side face of a positive electrode active material layer at the tip of the positive electrode 10 in the inserting direction into a body member 4, thus forming an extrusion part. The electrode assembly 5 has a tip 5a in the inserting direction into the case 3 consisting of the negative electrode 11 and the extruding part of the separator 12, and includes a protective member 30 attached to the tip 5a and protecting the insertion part of the electrode assembly 5. |
