PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer printer capable of preventing the occurrence of a sag in an ink ribbon when an ink ribbon cassette is conveyed by conveying means.SOLUTION: A thermal transfer printer 1 comprises: a printing part P on which a thermal head 13 and a platen roller 14 are disposed and drive means 100 is provided; and conveying means D for conveying an ink ribbon cassette C from the outside of the printing part P to the printing part P. The ink ribbon cassette C has a gear 56 for transmitting a driving force of the drive means 100 and a rotation control part 58 which is engaged with a tooth part 56a of the gear 56 to control the rotation of the gear 56. |
