Heading B4B A hand tool 10 for use in the construction and repair of 0-rings from flexible rubber-like rod material composes a rod severing station 12 and bonding stations 16, 18. The station 12 comprises a number of guide holes 20 which are bisected by a slot 28 for receiving a cutting blade. The stations 16, 18 are formed by V-grooves 32, 34 in flared ends of the tool. The tool has a scale 30 for measuring the amount of rod-like material to form a particular 0-ring of the desired size. Indicia are provided adjacent the holes 20 for indicating the diameter of the rod-like material. Severing of the material to the required length is effected by passing a cutting blade through the slot 28 past the supporting hole 20. The cut rod is then removed and a quick hardening cement, adhesive or other bonding agent applied to the ends thereof which are placed in aligned abutting relationship within groove 32 or 34 and held therein during the hardening of the bonding agent.</p> |
