PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure release device in which impact noise generated by a follower member rotated ahead is reduced.SOLUTION: A pressure release device comprises: a film holder 52 which axially supports a fixing film 18 in a rotatable manner; a pressure spring 56 which presses the film holder 52 to pressure-contact the fixing film 18 with a pressure roller 19; and pressure release means which resists the pressure force of the pressure spring 56 to release a pressure-contact state between the fixing film 18 and the pressure roller 19. The pressure release means includes: a protrusion part 54a rotationally driven by a motor 30; a pressure release cam 53 which is axially supported by a driving shaft 54 of the protrusion part 54a in a rotatable manner, and provided so as to have a prescribed play in the rotation direction with respect to the protrusion part 54a and rotate following the driving shaft 54, and which includes a cam surface 53d sliding in contact with the pressure plate 51 provided at one end part of the pressure spring 56 and resisting the pressure force of the pressure spring 56 to release the pressure-contact state between the fixing film 18 and the pressure roller 19; and a buffer member 55 which controls the prescribed play in the rotation direction between the protrusion part 54a and the pressure release cam 53. |
