PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle periphery-monitoring device capable of appropriately determining whether a processing for avoiding vehicle collision to an object is to be performed or not.SOLUTION: A vehicle periphery-monitoring device 1 includes: a first recognition part 11 for recognizing a road shape in a traveling direction of own vehicle C; a second recognition part 12 for recognizing a location of an object M existing in the periphery of the own vehicle C; an estimation part 13 for estimating traveling direction of the object M from the location recognized by the second recognition part 12; a collision avoidance processing part 15 for determining whether an avoidance processing for avoiding collision between the own vehicle C and the object M is to be performed or not, based on a relationship between a road shape recognized by the first recognition part 11 and a traveling direction of the object M estimated by the estimation part 13.
