PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dot data generation method capable of obtaining a second image similar in printing quality to a first image even when the second image is printed by a second ink jet recording device different in way of landing of a discharged ink drop on a recording medium from a first ink jet recording device for printing the first image.SOLUTION: When a first image is printed on a recording medium by a first ink jet recording device on the basis of first dot data, and a second image is printed on another recording medium by a second ink jet recording device smaller in level of landing of discharged ink drops dispersed in a main scanning direction on the recording medium than the first ink jet recording device on the basis of second dot data, data conversion is performed, in which the dot data of an L size and an M size of the first data are converted so that in place of the dots, a plurality of dots smaller in size can be formed with predetermined intervals in the main scanning direction to generate second dot data. |
