PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video signal transmission method, a video signal receiver and a video signal reception method for effectively increasing transmission efficiency in the case of distributing a video signal corresponding to super-high definition by setting the algorithm of video signal processing at a transmission side in accordance with the algorithm of video signal processing at a reception side.SOLUTION: In a video signal transmission method, a first video signal is down-converted, and a second video signal is generated by video signal generation means (18), and the second video signal is up-converted on the basis of a conversion algorithm designated from the outside by conversion means (221 to 22n), and a differential signal between the signal obtained by up-converting the second video signal and the first video signal is generated by differential signal generation means (24), and the second video signal and the differential signal are transmitted by transmission means (19, 25). |
