PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle device which uses shaft bearings capable of high speed rotation with a dmn value of 1,000,000 or greater, and which prevents flinger deformation due to centrifugal force, while maintaining a satisfactory waterproofing function, and to provide a flinger for the spindle device.SOLUTION: A flinger 40 has a flinger body 41 which comprises: first and second annular metal members 70 and 71 that are externally fitted to a rotating shaft respectively; a cylindrical boss part 42 externally fitted to a cylindrical part formed on the first and second metal members 70 and 71; an inclined part 43 extending from the boss part 42 to an outside in a radial direction, oppositely arranged in a shaft direction to an end surface of a housing in the shaft direction, and inclining toward an end surface in the shaft direction toward the outside in the radial direction; and a circular part 44 extending from the inclined part 43 in the shaft direction, and oppositely arranged in the radial direction to an outer peripheral surface of the housing H. The flinger body 41 has a specific gravity which is smaller than the one of the first and second metal members 70 and 71, and is made from a light metallic material with a high specific strength. |
