Provided is a voltage regulator capable of preventing excessive overshoot in output voltage in case of power variation in a non-regulate state. The voltage regulator includes: an error amplification circuit which amplifies the difference between a reference voltage and a divided voltage and controls the gate of an output transistor; an amp which detects overshoot in output voltage by comparing the reference voltage and the divided voltage; a first transistor which generates current proportional to the current flowing in the output transistor; a current mirror circuit which mirrors current proportional to the current flowing in the output transistor; and a first bias circuit which increases response speed by raising the bias current of the amp.
