Provided is an X-ray image apparatus which generates a single-energy X-ray image or/and a multi-energy X-ray image according to the properties of an object. One embodiment of the X-ray image apparatus includes an X-ray generation part emitting an X-ray beam to the object; an X-ray detection part which detects the X-ray beam penetrating through the object and obtains an image signal of the object; and a control part which determines the properties of the object by analyzing the image signal of the object and generates a single-energy X-ray image or/and a multi-energy X-ray image according to the determined properties.
