The invention relates to an antenna system that enables digital land-based television reception at a portable terminal. The antenna system consists of two slot antennas (1, 2), which are built into a terminal and the arrangement of which enables use of the antenna diversity principle. The system further comprises means (4, 5) for reconfiguring the frequency of the antennas by using variable capacitive loads near the open ends of the slot antennas and in the body thereof.
