The system (2) has two supports (3) for supporting left and right wheels (RV). A mechanical connection device (4) includes arms (40) pivotally mounted on the supports. A holding element (5) holds the connecting device on a frame (C) of a tricycle (1). A locking/unlocking device includes a locking element movable in translation of the holding element. A mechanical conversion device converts the rotation of one arm into a sliding motion of the locking element. An actuator is movable between lock and release positions for locking and allowing the swiveling of the mechanical connection device. An independent claim is also included for a tiltable vehicle.
