The present invention relates to a prismatic secondary battery with a bottom notch and a battery pack comprising the same. More particularly, the present invention relates to a secondary battery where an electrode assembly consisting of an anode, a cathode, and a separator is formed in a prismatic can. The prismatic can consists of a rectangle can body which is made of a metallic material and has an open upper part, and a top cap which includes an electrode terminal and is combined with the open upper part of the can body. A notch, which discharges a gas by being broken when the inner pressure of a battery increases, is formed in the lower part of the can body which is opposite to the top cap. |
