Provided is an exhaust gas purification catalyst that exhibits excellent NOx conversion performance in a high temperature range, and exhibits excellent low-temperature activity. The exhaust gas purification catalyst contains, in oxides with particle sizes ranging from 1 to 50 nm and having oxygen adsorbing and releasing capabilities, a first catalyst and a precious metal-containing second catalyst, which are supported by oxides with particle sizes ranging from 1 to 30 nm, said oxides being represented by general formula (1): LaxM1-xM'O3-delta (wherein La represents lanthanum; M represents at least one type of element selected from a group comprising barium (Ba), strontium (Sr) and calcium (Ca); M' represents at least one type of element selected from a group comprising iron (Fe), cobalt (Co), nickel (Ni) and manganese (Mn); delta represents oxygen deficiency; and x and delta satisfy the relationships, 0 < x <= 1 and 0 <= delta <= 1.) |
