The technical result of the utility model is the possibility of measuring the weight (mass) of railway rolling stock without uncoupling same and with a large tolerance for the positioning of a car, wherein said rolling stock may include different sorts of units (cars) with different wheelbases, inter alia cars carrying liquid loads (tank cars). The above technical result is achieved in that the system for weighing a car without uncoupling railway rolling stock, which comprises weighing sections provided with weight measuring devices which, for the purpose of assessing the weight of the car to be weighed, are capable of collecting weight-related data exclusively from the weighing sections on which the wheels of the car to be weighed are situated, the weighing sections being arranged in succession along a portion of the railway in such a way that the car to be weighed has all of its wheels disposed thereon and the wheel pairs of each adjacent car coupled to the car to be weighed do not touch the sections involved in the weighing process, is characterized in that the lengths of the weighing sections are selected in such a way that the length of at least one of the weighing sections is equal to or not greater than the value 2L, which corresponds to double the minimum length of an interval from among all of the intervals between the nearest edges of the contact patches of adjacent wheel pairs of coupled cars in an entire row of cars that require weighing. As a railway vehicle passes through the weighing sections, for each car in a time interval allocated for measuring the weight of a car, one or more measuring sections are used in which only the wheel pairs of the car to be weighed are situated during the aforesaid time interval. If a wheel/s of the car to be weighed is/are situated at a junction between different weighing sections, both of the sections are used to measure the weight of the car to be weighed.
