Disclosed is a heterocyclic derivative which has a thyroid hormoneβreceptor agonistic activity and is therefore effective for the prevention or treatment of diseases associated with the activity. Specifically disclosed are: a compound represented by general formula [I] (wherein each symbol is as defined in the description) or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof; and a pharmaceutical preparation comprising the compound as an active ingredient.
