摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To early determine the abnormality of an engine.SOLUTION: An ECU 400 mounted in a plug-in hybrid vehicle includes a control mode selection part 410, and an engine abnormality determination part 420. The control mode selection part 410 selects one of a charge depleting (CD) mode and a charge sustain (CS) mode, and makes the vehicle travel in the selected control mode. The engine abnormality determination part 420 determines existence or nonexistence of a combustion abnormality of the engine every reference number of rotation times of the engine. In the CS mode, the engine abnormality determination part 420 uses "present trip combustion abnormality times Nnow" that is the times of the combustion abnormality determined during present trip, to determine existence or nonexistence of engine abnormality. On the other hand, in the CD mode, the engine abnormality determination part 420 uses "cumulative combustion abnormality times Nsum" obtained by adding combustion abnormality times during past trip to the combustion abnormality times Nnow during the present trip, to determine the existence or nonexistence of the engine abnormality.
