PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a take-up device for taking up recording medium while suppressing a skewing or meandering motion with a simple constitution.SOLUTION: A take-up device comprises: take-up members 14 disposed in plurality in the widthwise direction of a recording medium and made rotatable for holding a leading edge portion of the recording medium in a transfer direction and for taking up the recording medium; a drive unit 10 for generating a drive torque to rotate the take-up member 14; and a torque limiter 13 combined with the take-up members 14. The torque limiter 13 transmits, when it receives a drive torque exceeding a preset value from the drive unit 10 and a resistance torque at or lower than a preset value from the take-up member 14, a rotational torque equal to the preset value to the take-up members 14 thereby to rotate the take-up members 14, but transmits, when it receives a drive torque exceeding the preset value from the drive unit 10 and a resistance torque exceeding the preset value from the take-up member 14, a rotational torque equal to the preset value to the take-up members 14 without rotating the take-up members 14. |
