<p>Provided are a glass substrate for a solar cell which satisfies high power generation efficiency, high glass transition temperature, predefined average coefficient of thermal expansion, high glass strength, low glass density and properties of high solubility during glass sheet production, excellent mouldability, excellent devitrification inhibiting properties, and the like in a well balanced manner, and a solar cell using the same. The glass substrate for a solar cell comprises, in terms of mass percentage on an oxide basis, 50 to 65% of SiO2, 8 to 15% of Al2O3, 0 to 1% of B2O3, 0 to 10% of MgO, 1 to 12% of CaO, 6 to 12% of SrO, 0 to 3% of BaO, 1 to 7% of ZrO2, 2 to 8% of Na2O, 0 to 8% of K2O, and 15 to 30% of MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO, where SrO/Na2O is 0.8 to 2.5.</p> |
