A temporary fixing structure for an electronic instrument is provided with tongue pieces (6) each provided on brackets (3) that are on both sides of an instrument unit (2) and having surfaces that are parallel to side surfaces of the instrument unit (2). Hole parts (8a) are formed in chassis-side wall parts (8) that are in proximity to and face the surfaces of the tongue pieces (6) when the brackets (3) are assembled with a chassis (4a), and protrusions (6a) are formed in the surfaces of the tongue pieces (6). The bracket (3) is temporarily fixed to the chassis (4a) by aligning the positions of the tongue pieces (6) and the wall parts (8) and assembling the bracket (3) to the chassis (4a) such that the protrusions (6a) are pressed against the opening peripheral edges of holes (8a).
