PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid system software from being down for low-frequency processing in a memory inspection on a computer equipped with an x86 CPU; and suppress performance deterioration due to the memory inspection and avoid reduction in a memory capacity.SOLUTION: A computer includes a processor, a memory, and an I/O device. The memory 90 stores system software 20 that implements a system control unit and an inspection program that implements an inspection unit 50. The processor includes a memory failure notification unit 75 that notifies the system control unit of a failure address. The system control unit includes: an adjustment unit 300 that determines whether or not it is necessary to execute the inspection program, on the basis of the type of an event that has happened; a plurality of event processing units that processes the event by using a different storage area of the memory; a failure recording unit that records a memory failure; and an event processing unit selector 110 that selects an event processing unit, which processes the event, by referring to inspection result information. |
