<p>An ultrasonic transmitter (3) which is attached to an object to be inspected (1), an ultrasonic receiver (5) which receives the reflected wave of an ultrasonic wave that has propagated from the ultrasonic transmitter (3) into the object to be inspected (1), and a data processor (7) which, on the basis of received data indicating the waveform of the reflected wave received by the ultrasonic receiver (5), obtains position specification data for specifying the position of a defect (1a) in the object to be inspected (1) are provided. The ultrasonic wave generated by the ultrasonic transmitter (3) is frequency-modulated, and the waveform of this ultrasonic wave is composed of components of respective frequencies other than the resonance frequency between the ultrasonic transmitter (3) and the ultrasonic receiver (5). The data processor (7) has a pulse compression unit (21) for pulse-compressing the received data, and obtains the position specification data on the basis of the pulse-compressed received data.</p> |
