<p>This position detection device comprises a position estimation unit, an update unit, and a position correction unit. The position estimation unit estimates the position of a mobile body from the absolute position of the mobile body and changes in the position of the mobile body which are determined by autonomous navigation. The update unit updates existence probability information for each of a plurality of areas, on the basis of the estimated position of the mobile body and/or the motion of the mobile body, said existence probability information representing higher probabilities the higher the frequency with which the mobile body exists. The position correction unit corrects, on the basis of the updated existence probability information, the estimated position of the mobile body in such a manner that the mobile body exists in a high probability position.</p> |
