Provided are a method and a device for storing consumer identification information in consumables used for image producing devices. The method comprises the steps of: accepting the order of a consumer for at least one consumable item which has a tag memory; searching for consumer-related consumer identification information; storing the searched consumer identification information in the respective tag memories of the ordered consumables; and shipping the ordered consumables to a consumer who corresponds to the consumer identification information stored in the respective tag memory of the ordered consumables.
