摘要 The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a material for the negative electrode of a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery that contains a graphitic material and a hardly graphitizable carbonaceous material, that is resistant to deterioration due to moisture absorption, and that has excellent charge/discharge cycle resistance; a negative electrode for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery using said material; and a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery that uses said material and said negative electrode and that exhibits low resistance and excellent cycle durability. The material for the negative electrode of a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises: a carbonaceous material that is obtained by carbonizing a plant-derived organic material that contains 0.5 mass% or less of potassium, that has an average particle size (Dv50) of 2-50 µm, in which the average interplanar spacing of a (002) plane determined by powder X-ray diffraction is 0.365-0.400 nm, in which the atomic ratio (H/C) of hydrogen atoms and carbon atoms according to elemental analysis is 0.1 or less, and in which the true density determined by a butanol method is 1.51 g/cm3 to 1.65 g/cm3; and a graphitic material in which the average layer face interval measured using powder X-ray diffraction is 0.345 nm or less and the true density determined by a pycnometer method using butanol is 1.9 g/cm3 or higher.
