The present invention relates to a method for controlling a traffic signal using road side equipment (RSE), and the method for controlling a traffic signal using road side equipment comprises the steps of: receiving an entry request signal from on-board equipment (OBE) mounted in a vehicle; determining whether to permit the entry of the vehicle on the basis of signal light mode information and information on another vehicle; requesting signal control which is necessary for the passage of the vehicle to a signal controller when the entry of the vehicle is permitted; and notifying the on-board equipment mounted in the vehicle of the determination result on whether or not entry is permitted.
