PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable sewing without breakage of a needle thread Y even when using, as the needle thread Y, a low-elongation thread having properties of being easily broken by small bending, being weak in frictional contact and being easily broken by strong tension, in a sewing machine including a vertically movable sewing needle 3 and a take-up lever mechanism 4 which applies a pulling-up action in the same cycle as that of the vertical movement of the sewing needle 3 to the needle thread on a primary side in a thread-feeding direction toward the needle hole of the sewing needle 3.SOLUTION: A take-up lever mechanism 4 includes: a rotary support shaft 15 which is vertically moved while maintaining a horizontally projecting state of approximately perpendicularly crossing a vertical movement axis P of the vertical movement of the sewing needle 3; and a pulley 16 for threading, which is rotatably held by the rotary support shaft 15. |
