PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vapor phase polymerization reaction apparatus capable of cooling an enlarged part with simple equipment while suppressing effects from external factors such as ambient temperature, weather (wind and rain) or direct sunlight, and to provide a method for stably producing olefin polymer without generating a block object.SOLUTION: A vapor phase polymerization reaction apparatus having an enlarged part 2 has an outer wall 3 outside the enlarged part 2 with a gap 4.
