PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for heating a molding die, capable of suppressing deterioration of surface accuracy due to variation in a temperature distribution of the molding die to form a glass molding having surface accuracy not requiring post processing.SOLUTION: A glass molding apparatus consists of a lower die 3 and an upper die 4 relatively openable to the lower die 3. A heating device 5 attached to each die is constituted by vertically superposing a plurality of heating units 5A consisting of: a reflector 51 having an annular reflection surface whose cross section is approximately elliptic; and a circular lamp 52 having an annular filament 521 at one focal point of the annular reflection surface of the reflector 51 and is arranged so that the other focal point of the annular reflection surface of the reflector 51 is approximately positioned at a center line of each die. A heat beam emitted from the filament 521 of each heating unit 5A is reflected on the annular reflection surface of the reflector 51 and heats each die from the outer peripheral surface so as to be condensed in a certain range in a vertical direction of the center line peripheral edge part of each die corresponding to the other focal point. |
