The present invention relates to a composition comprising a Schizandra chinensis extract as an active ingredient for treating oral diseases and inhibiting halitosis. The Schizandra chinensis extract is capable of removing main components of breath such as hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan, or dimethyl sulfide, and has an excellent antibacterial activity for oral pathogens present in the oral cavity. Thus the Schizandra chinensis extract has an effect for removal of bad breath and for preventing or treating infectious oral diseases such as tooth decay or periodontal disease.
