PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device which is useable even when the locking of an optical pickup is released in a state that the chucking of an optical disk is released.SOLUTION: An optical disk device includes: a main chassis 2; a drive motor 7; a tray 3 which slides between an insertion/removal position and a storage position by the drive motor; an optical pickup 9; a rack 12 having an engagement part 22 for transmitting the power of the drive motor to an optical pickup; a switch which is turned on by the rack of the optical pickup when the engagement part of the main chassis is engaged with the engagement part of the rack of the optical pickup for detecting the open state of the tray, and which is not turned on by the rack of the optical pickup when the engagement of the engagement part of the main chassis with the engagement part of the rack of the optical pickup is released for detecting the close state of the tray; and a control part for conveying the tray to the storage position when the switch is turned off, and the switch is not turned on within a predetermined time since the open instruction of the tray is made. |
