PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extension pipe having high safety against electric leakage without any influence upon an insulating structure between a power line and a pipe body, and a vacuum cleaner .SOLUTION: An extension pipe 25 includes: an inner pipe body 42 made of carbon fiber contained resin; a cover back lid 96 made of an insulator and extending in the longitudinal direction of the inner pipe body 42; a second tunnel cover 95 made of an insulator for defining a second insulating chamber 98 extending from one end of the inner pipe body 42 to the other end in cooperation with the cover back lid 96; a power line 75 extending from one end of the inner pipe body 42 to the other end through the second insulating chamber 98; a hook 49 rocked to fix and unfix a suction port body 26 connected to the end of the inner pipe body 42; and a shaft part 117 held between the inner pipe body 42 and the second tunnel cover 95 to pivotally support the hook 49.
