PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for separating a washing waste liquid, in which radioactive materials are melted and mixed, by freezing it and causing its ice part to be vapor in vacuum with sublimation pressure, to obtain residues containing radioactive materials.SOLUTION: A washing waste liquid (hereinafter called a waste liquid) containing radioactive materials is put into a liquid receiving tray 5 to freeze in a freezer 6, and is set in a vacuum chamber 7. The chamber 7 is a vacuum container capable of sublimating the frozen ice part of the waste liquid in vacuum to be vapor, joins a cold trap 9 having a function capable of freezing and collecting vapor with a vacuum valve and a pipe, and also joins a vacuum pump 15 capable of exhausting inactive gas. The vapor generated in the chamber can move to the cold trap to be sublimated. The sublimated vapor is re-frozen in the cold trap 9 and is melted after the completion of operation to be able to be collected as pure water. After pure water from the frozen waste liquid becomes vapor to be discharged, the radioactive materials are left with dried residues. Namely, the waste liquid is separated into the pure water and the residues containing the radioactive materials that can be left and collected in the tray 5. |
