This light source module (1A) has a light arrival end (13) on the side on which light that has entered from a light incident end (11) of a light guide plate (10) arrives with respect to the light guidance direction, said light arrival end (13) having: an exit section (13b) where light that has arrived at the light arrival end (13) breaks the total reflection condition, exits outside of the light guide plate (10), and arrives at a diffusion cover (7A); and a light-blocking section (13a) where the light that has reached the light arrival end (13) is blocked from exiting outside of the light guide plate (10). The exit section (13b) is positioned between a light exit surface (12) and the light-blocking section (13a).
