Provided is a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which is capable of achieving high battery performance (for example, high energy density and high power density). This nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is provided with a positive electrode which comprises a positive electrode collector and a positive electrode active material layer that is formed on the collector and contains at least a positive electrode active material and a conductive material. The positive electrode active material contains a lithium-transition metal composite oxide. The conductive material contains a lithium phosphate compound, to at least a part of the surface of which conductive carbon adheres. The ratio of the conductive material in the positive electrode active material layer is 10% by mass or less.
