The tool (1) has a communication unit for transmitting information to a user of the tool. The communication unit comprises a tactile signaling device for transmitting tactile signals to the user, where the signaling device is operative in contact regions (11-14), where the contact regions are touched by the user during utilization of the tool. The tactile signaling device comprises a vibration device producing vibration signals that are significant different from operation vibrations of the tool. The vibration device is embedded into a resiliently deformable material layer. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a hand-guided tool.
