The tool (1) has a rotary tool head (2), and a cutter (3) arranged in an area of a peripheral surface (4) of the tool head. An abrasive medium (5) consisting of carbide, metal nitride, aluminum oxide, sapphire or diamond grains (6) is arranged at the peripheral surface in a rotating direction (7). The cutter and/or a cutting edge (8) is designed as a polycrystalline diamond-cutter, where fiber-reinforced plastic is cut by the cutter during rotating of the tool. The abrasive medium is attached to the peripheral surface by electro-plating. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a tool.
