PURPOSE: A superhydrophobic nanostructure and a manufacturing method of the same are provided to apply superhydrophobic characteristic to a base material, and to improve mechanical strength by including wavy copper nanowires. CONSTITUTION: A superhydrophobic nanostructure includes wavy copper nanowires. Naturally oxidized layers are formed on the surfaces of the copper nanowires. The copper nanowires are irregularly wavy nanowires in the direction of longitudinal axis. The copper nanowires are manufactured by reducing copper oxide nanowires, and the shape of the copper nanowires becomes wavy by the reduction. The nanostructure has a water contact angle of 160 degrees or more and a sliding angle of 2 degrees or less. A manufacturing method of the nanostructure includes the following steps: thermally oxidizing copper under oxidizing atmosphere, and forming copper oxide nanowires; and thermally reducing the copper oxide nanowires under reduction atmosphere, and forming a superhydrophobic nanostructure with copper nanowires. |
