PURPOSE: An EGR system which prevents the increase of nitrogen oxide using an air-cooled EGR cooler and a control method are provided to make a flow path of the EGR gas simple by removing a bypass valve. CONSTITUTION: The temperature is measured by an air cooling type EGR(air-cooled exhaust gas recirculation) cooler which is connected with a water-cooling type EGR cooler(S10) at right angle. The operation of a heater mounted on the air cooling type EGR cooler is checked(S20). When the heater is on, and the temperature is higher than a first preset temperature, the heater is turned off(S32). If the heater is determined as the off, or the temperature is lower than a second preset temperature(S40), the heater is turned on(S42). |
