The present invention relates to a system and a method for providing a music service based on user context, wherein the system comprises: an audio service device for receiving and storing music setup information and playback setup information of a user, collecting schedule information of the user, recognizing user context, generating an audio data list according to the music setup information, the playback setup information and the recognized context, and providing the generated audio data list for a user terminal; and the user terminal having a web browser engine for, if receiving the audio data list, calling an audio player application executed in a web browser and reproducing the audio data included in the audio data list. By this means, the present invention provides a player for reproducing the audio data on the web browser, thereby enabling the user to enjoy the music service on the web browser without directly visiting a music-related web site, selecting and providing music appropriate to the user context according the schedule of the user, and thus enhancing user satisfaction in using the service.
