PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel having a simple structure, capable of compacting a length in the front-to-back direction of a reel body, and including a fishing line guide capable of effectively reducing release resistance and winding resistance of a fishing line.SOLUTION: A fishing reel has: a spool 5A for winding a fishing line; and a level winding device 50 including a fishing line guide 60 allowing the fishing line sent out from the spool 5A to be inserted and moving reciprocally in linkage with rotating operation of a handle. The fishing line guide 60 has: an opening part 68 which is supported rotatably in the front-to-back direction between the fishing line wound state and the fishing line released state, and which is wide in the right and left direction where the fishing line is positioned in the fishing line released state; a fishing line guiding part 67 which is narrow in the right and left direction where the fishing line is positioned in the fishing line wound state; and a regulation part 69 which prevents the fishing line from releasing from the fishing line guiding part in the fishing line wound state. The regulation part 69 is supported rotatably by the fishing line guide 60, and can guide the fishing line to the fishing line guiding part 67, coming in contact with the fishing line rotatably in the fishing line wound state. |
