PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which work for setting a start end of an ink ribbon to a ribbon feeding passage is simplified and it can be set appropriately.SOLUTION: A ribbon supply passage 34 supplies an ink ribbon 31 to a head unit 2. An entrance side sensor S1 is provided in an entrance side of the ribbon supply passage 34. The entrance side sensor S1 detects a start end of an ink ribbon 31 inserted into the entrance 35. A ribbon start end carrying mechanism 200 is provided in the ribbon supply passage 34. When the entrance side sensor S1 detects the ink ribbon 31, the start end of the ink ribbon 31 is automatically carried in a direction toward the head unit 2. |
