PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic relay 2 for a motor, capable of enhancing safety by making a resistive element 17 be melted at a predetermined part in such a case that an excessive current flows in the resistive element 17, and of improving processability and moldability of the resistive element 17.SOLUTION: An electromagnetic relay 2 for a motor comprises: a resistive element 17 for suppressing an initiation current flowing at activation of a motor 3; a relay contact point for bypassing the resistive element 17 and connected to a motor circuit; and a solenoid for opening and closing the relay contact point. The electromagnetic relay 2 can switch between a first energization path where the initiation current of the motor 3 flows in the resistive element 17 when the relay contact point is opened, and a second energization path bypassing the resistive element 17 when the relay contact point is closed. The resistive element 17 is processed to be folded arcuately so that a part between one end part 17a and the other end part 17b are curved at a substantially constant curvature, and at least one or more notch parts 17c are formed between the one end part 17a and the other end part 17b. |
