摘要 The invention relates to a method for producing sulphur and can be used in the gas-processing, chemical and petrochemical branches of industry for processing and decontaminating gases containing hydrogen sulphide in an amount of up to 90%. The hydrogen sulphide is oxidized with oxygen at a temperature of 250°C in a fixed granulated-catalyst bed, which is situated between heat-exchange surfaces arranged at an angle of 45 to 90 degrees to the horizontal, and the gas is fed in at an angle of from 0 to 90 degrees to the horizontal, wherein the ratio of the thickness of the bed to the catalyst granule size is 5-10:1. The resulting liquid sulphur condenses on the heat-exchange surfaces, runs down into the bottom of the reactor and is removed therefrom. The use of the invention ensures an extension of the scope of applicability of the method, an intensification of the process and simplification of the technology, reduces the consumption of material and increases the energy efficiency.
